About Us

Creswick Neighbourhood Centre is your local neighbourhood house! Join us for a range of activities including events, courses, fun workshops, groups, and more. Creswick Neighbourhood Centre is a friendly place where everyone is welcome.

We are a neighbourhood house originally started by the Creswick community in the early 1980s. We are an incorporated, registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to community development and opportunities for our community.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Management, we are funded in part by The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, and self-funded through a range of social enterprise initiatives.

We say feedback is golden so let us know even if your experience isn’t ideal – you can help us grow and improve. We love meeting new residents so make sure you let us know. There are no stupid questions, so if you have a burning question about our area, we’ll have a go at helping you out and if we can’t, we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction. Stay in touch – feedback is golden.

What is a neighbourhood house?

Neighbourhood houses are the heart of our communities. They bring people together to connect, learn and contribute to their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities.

We are one of about 400 neighbourhood houses across Victoria. There a four houses in the Hepburn Shire region– Trentham, Daylesford, Clunes, and us. And many houses in the City of Ballarat.

Also commonly known as community centres, learning centres, community houses or neighbourhood centres, these inclusive community-based organisations welcome people of all ages, abilities and walks of life, creating opportunities for people to enrich their lives through connections they might not otherwise make.

There are over 400 neighbourhood houses across Victoria, but no two neighbourhood houses are ever the same. Guided by a community development approach, they each engage and respond to the needs and priorities of the communities they serve.
